GiftED supports educators of gifted students in their work with gifted individuals to develop their intellectual and academic potential through professional development, professional learning communities, coaching, and regional events.

Professional Development:

Provisional Gifted Endorsement Course

This training focuses on best practices in gifted instruction including navigating national gifted standards, social and emotional growth, differentiated instruction, critical thinking, creative thinking and problem solving. It also addresses highly effective, research based strategies for instructing gifted students. Completion of this training will qualify participant for AZ gifted provisional endorsement.

Advanced Gifted Education Course

This a follow up to the Provisional Gifted Education Course, and is designed for those who have completed their provisional endorsement or have some training or experience teaching gifted students. This course offers an in depth, intensive exploration of critical thinking, creative thinking, problem solving, questioning and depth and complexity. Completion of this 45 hour training will contribute towards an AZ Gifted Endorsement.

Gifted and Advanced Learning Leadership Institute

A leadership institute for K-8 school-level administrators and leaders focused on gifted and advanced learning. This institute addresses the unique academic, intellectual, social and emotional needs of gifted learners and Arizona law and State Board of Education Rules regarding Gifted Education programs and services. This institute offers practical tools to help support local school efforts to expand accelerated and advanced learning opportunities for the students and families they serve.
