Power Over Predators

Power Over Predators, our newest community partner, gives students the courage and resources to stand up for themselves and make their school a place where abuse is quickly identified and prevented. Students learn to defend each other and receive tangible steps to achieve their personal goals and protect their future.

The program is an evidence-based program developed over 15 years of research and interaction with youth.  The Power Over Predators Student Course includes:

  • INTERNET SAFETY - INCLUDING CYBER BULLYING, SEXTING & PORNOGRPAHY: which fulfills federal Child Internet Protection Act (CIPA) requirements by addressing how youth can protect themselves from predators who use the Internet for exploitation through pornography, sexting and cyberbullying.
  • ABUSE PREVENTION INCLUDING SEX & LABOR TRAFFICKING: which meets the requirements for the Frederick Douglass Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2018. Schools can utilize Power Over Predators for required annual Trafficking in Persons education.
  • SUICIDE PREVENTION – SAFE, SUPPORTIVE RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT: Incorporates the eight key Department of Health and Human Service positive youth development standards and includes CASEL’s core competencies of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. It is geared towards middle and high school students.
