2019 Pima County Spelling Bee
The best and brightest spellers from Southern Arizona competed in the Pima County Spelling Bee on Saturday, February 16, 2019. We had 38 superstar students from district, private, charter and home schools take the stage looking to advance to the state spelling bee.
After two-plus hours of spelling, Sai Konkimalla from BASIS Oro Valley narrowly edged out Trevlyn Brimhall (Vail School District) with the winning word of "Parsec.” Our alternate and 3rd place finisher was Benjamin McCarthy representing Amphitheater Public Schools! Congratulations to all of our spellers!
