Baboquivari Unified Governing Board Vacancy
Tucson, AZ – Pima County School Superintendent Dustin J. Williams has declared a vacancy on the Baboquivari Unified School District Governing Board.
In accordance with A.R.S. § 38-291, a governing board position is considered vacant when a member fails to perform the duties of the office for three consecutive months. Board Member Jessica Miguel, elected in November 2024, has not fulfilled her duties for more than three months; therefore, her seat has been declared vacant.
As outlined in A.R.S. § 15-302, the Baboquivari Governing Board may submit up to three names to the County School Superintendent for consideration; however, Superintendent Dustin J. Williams is not required to appoint from that list.
Superintendent Williams invites qualified candidates interested in filling the vacancy to apply by submitting:
• An Affidavit of Qualification, and
• A Candidate Appointment Questionnaire
• Two References
Applications are due by Tuesday, December 3, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
Application materials and instructions are available at www.schools.pima.gov/elections. Completed packets may be hand-delivered to 200 N. Stone Ave., or emailed to [email protected].
All applications will be reviewed and considered by Superintendent Williams and his leadership team. The appointed member will serve through December 31, 2026, and the position will appear on the November 2026 General Election ballot for a two-year term.
